Classical Landscapes
Park - no unity of design any more or a homogeneous whole, with a form following defined uses dictating the way of acting.
But Park - the unconnected images of paradigms of our society's understanding of nature, existing side by side; the tamed nature, paradise or Arcadia, the freedom being found within the wild nature, the regularity of natural cycles or the particular detail; infinity and ubiquity of “Nature“, deserts caused by civilization reanimated; the power for both, demolition and rehabilitation – such antithetic ideals “Park“ should be able to convey.
