Mies van der Rohe Award 2021 – the German nominations have been confirmed!
Every two years the EU Commission honours outstanding achievements in European architecture. The jury for the selection of the German entries met on 17 August 2020 and selected seven finalists from the 22 proposed works, including The Karoline Goldhofer day-care centre in Memmingen (2019) by heilergeiger Architects, which originated from an aging villa in Kempten. Congratulations on reaching the final! We will find out in June 2021 whether it is enough for the most renowned European architecture prize itself.

The outdoor facilities designed by Latz+Partner continue the elements of the Reggio concept, such as the conscious approach to the existing environment, natural resources and recycled materials in the garden.
The project has been nominated for the German Sustainability Award 2020 and is on the shortlist for the DAM Prize for Architecture in Germany 2021.
