The masterplan for Kirchberg showed a tram corridor parallel to the avenue for the first time in 1993. At the time this, just like the boulevard, was a motorway with huge intersections.
Now a tram actually runs from the Red Bridge to the Serra Roundabout. A curving steel and glass structure sets a sign for the shift in the site’s significance as a transport hub. It covers the terminal and marks the city’s entrance and exit point.
