Conversion of former industrial land

Situated on one of Beijing’s largest industrial brownfields, the so called “Metallic Park” shall offer innovative impulses for new functions and uses. Existing structures shaped by its former industrial use will be integrated, developed and interlaced in a new context: Rail tracks, ore bunkers, coking plants and blast furnaces will form the strong spine of the new landscape.

By highlighting them aesthetically, the industrial remains will change into landmarks with a symbolic character; in combination with the new and modern structures they will allow a view into the past and into the future.
