Development studies

The former ore open-cast mining areas of the so called „Terres Rouges“, closed for a long time, get developed into public open spaces, recreation areas near the town and urban extension zone, the region Esch sur Alzette into a regional park that combines the typical industrial character of surface mining with the formations of a natural landscape.

The concept sees a cautious development of tourism as a perspective for a region passing through a structural change.

The task is to find a new quality for the once destroyed landscape without covering it up or destroying it for a second time.
