Private Garden, Kempten

Intimate garden rooms open up to the landscape

Two modern apartments with terraces replace a detached house from the 1970s. Clearly assigned outside spaces offer occupants of each residential unit a private area. Full-height windows and sliding glass doors bring the landscape into the home and create a space continuum between inside and outside.
Wide views over the Allgäu foothills of the Alps and the city open up, like from a belvedere. Hedges cut in organic shapes border the garden, frame views and provide privacy in busier areas. Perennials, grasses and spring flowers set seasonally changing accents.
