Temporary exhibition garden for the Festival des Jardins de Chaumont-sur-Loire (1998)

Vertical stone slabs create an open space where layered laid limestone defines a spiral that depicts a gastropod shell. The growing ferns and the planting strategy also suggest this pattern.

From time to time, a gentle mist change the scenery and generate different microclimates. This new mysterious and refreshing environment lures children and adults into the stone made labyrinth.

The Fog Garden was designed by Latz + Partner. Construction details and project management was done in collaboration with the students of the Technical University of Munich-Weihenstephan and with the help of the staff of the Conservatoire International des Parcs et des Jardins.
