Green light for Germany’s first climate-neutral concert arena

On the evening of 6 April, the city council of the major district town of Freising gave the go-ahead for the start of the approval procedure for Germany’s most modern and sustainable concert arena in a special session with a resolution in principle. In addition to the basic design concept, the ideas for sustainability and traffic were also presented at the meeting. The Freising City Council appreciated all concepts and voted in favour with a large majority.
SWMUNICH plans to build and operate a modern multifunctional concert and congress arena with a capacity of up to around 20,000 visitors. The architectural concept of MUCcc is based on three pillars. The new concert arena should fascinate people from near and far on the outside and delight visitors on the inside with perfect sound, optimal sightlines, state-of-the-art technology and excellent hospitality. Last but not least, the concert arena is to be integrated into an exciting landscape architecture that will make even the journey to the venue an experience and will also set new standards from a sustainability perspective.
The architectural design for the new concert arena originates with the internationally renowned architectural firm POPULOUS from London, the landscape architecture is by Latz + Partner.
