Second participation evening on the ‘Long-term strategy for greening and improving the quality of life in Freiburg city centre’

On 9 July 2025, the second participation evening for the concept study ‘Greening and quality of life in Freiburg city centre’ took place. LATZ+PARTNER presented the current planning status and discussed the further development of the strategy with key players from the administration and urban society.
The aim of the concept is to sustainably enhance the inner-city open spaces in Freiburg through targeted greening and design. The concept study was developed by LATZ+PARTNER between 2023 and 2025 in close cooperation with the Freiburg City Planning Office.
The focus is on questions of climate-adapted recreational areas, green pathways and the potential of previously underused urban spaces. The challenges of the densely built-up old town – limited space, technical infrastructure, monument protection and accessibility – were also examined in detail.
