Emmeline Pankhurst statue unveiled on St Peter's Square

A statue of Manchester-born suffragette Emmeline Pankhurst was unveiled on St Peter’s Square in December to mark the 100th anniversary of women first voting. The statue is the first of a women in Manchester since Queen Victoria was unveiled in Piccadilly Gardens in 1901 and marks the completion of the works in the Square.
