Homage to Vignanello: Interpretation of a box-garden, where the blossoms of flowers and roses create seasonal highlights and where the patterns of clipped hedges remain dominant also with hoar and snow.
A sort of anamorphosis is caused by larger hedges around the box-and rose-garden, around the rainwater pond in front of the studio greenhouse and around the building with its intimate inner court. Images can be deformed by means of perspective tricks, making it possible to deform perceptions: Seen from the outside the garden reveals its very small size, undesired gazes cannot penetrate, and the garden is only “imagined”. From the inside, one seems to integrate the surrounding palustrine landscape into the organized garden, it is “borrowed” from distant panoramas.
